Trebes

Le Moulin de Trèbes (04 68 78 97 57) – fine dining and a lovely setting beside the Ecluse de Trèbes (lock)

Tratoria Napoli (04 68 78 83 08) - the pizzas are  great

Vignes du Bacchus Wine & Tapas Bar (06 73 71 47 66) - tapas and wines from their vineyard and other local wines at reasonable prices to drink there or takeaway

La Poissonerie Moderne (04 68 78 26 72) - very popular fish menu, good value set menu

Le Quai (04 68 24 82 80) – their seafood or meat platters are great value

L'Arganier (04 68 78 46 82) - Moroccan food set back from the port beside a quiet lane

Les Tres Bes (04 68 76 93 09) - just back from the Canal on the roundabout

Carcassonne

Le Bastide:

Chez Fred (04 68 72 02 23)  www.chez-fred.fr. Opposite Railway station on Bde Omer-Sarrault

Le Clos des Framboisiers (04 68 47 41 17)  just outside the city - upmarket with a very good set menu for around €30 so not too pricey. Le-Clos-des-Framboisiers on Facebook

La Grande Bouffee (04 68 71 32 87) Route Minervois – family run steak house beside the canal at Carcassonne.

L’escargot tapas bar (04 68 47 12 55)  http://www.restaurant-lescargot-carcassonne.fr/ - our favourite in the Cite - especially after a great lunch by the Canal!

La Marquiere (04 68 71 52 00)  http://www.lamarquiere.com – one of Carcassonne’s best traditional restaurants, €38 for three courses.

Comte Roger (04 68 11 93 40)  http://www.comteroger.com - lovely terrace in Le Cite, traditional food but quite pricey – recently featured in James Martin’s France programme
